For some forgotten, for others, like me, a masterpiece. Theodor Kittelsen is an artist well known for his drawings of mystical creatues, and norwegian folktales. He had an odd interest in frogs and trolls.
The viewing of trolls as we know them today, is much inspired, and created by Kittelsens visualisation of them back in the days. If you don't know him, you should definitely read up on the guy! Or maybe... look up what he's created!
One of my favourite pieces is called "Nøkken Fisker" and shows a mythical monster from old scare-stories fishing for humans.

Since the norse times this creature has been known in folktales, songs and "fairytales". It's a male creature living in rivers, dikes, and all kinds of freshwater basically, and it's known to try to lure poeple out in the water to drown them.
He can transform into all kinds of things to lure you in, and some of Kittelsens drawings of him include as a white horse.
It's also linked to the "nøkkrose" you can see him holding in this picture. When I was younger my aunt used to tell me not to swim into these water-roses because if I did, Nøkken would grab my foot, eat and drown me.

So a Nøkk is definitely scary, and you should stay away from him! He won't be nice to you, and he will drown you if you enter his water. Nice old folklores. They're always so creative and cute!
So I kind of decided that I needed a new tattoo, and I would show my love to mister Theorod Kittelsen by arting my favourite piece!
It's only half done, it will have some more colouring and everything, so I'll post again when it's complete. This is however a draft, an unfinished tattoo which I so far am very happy with!
As you can see, this is very freshly made, still red and all. But it's a nice start! Right now it's peeling of like insane!
